So this is just a taste of what I enjoyed in Suomenlinna. It was the highlight of my trip to Helsinki. The ferry back on the open deck was a bit cold but I was expecting that. It was all worth it.

... Art Nouveau examples including the formidable central station. We started in the country's iconic shop which is called Stokkemann. At least 8 floors which Kate described as 'Finland's John Lewis but nicer'. Took the Boomer to the garage for routine service. Taxi into town and caught an early ferry to Soumenlinna Island, 15 minutes ride away, in drizzling cold rain but the day improved. Went up to the VIP lounge for sail out yesterday. The Fjords was
spectacular. Hundreds of island, some just rocks others had one or two houses
or summer cottages other island had lots of massive houses. All wooded with
pine trees. The water was like glass filled with heaps of small boats. It was
definitely one of the most spectacular sailings I’ve experience.
