... concert that I've been looking forward to. We got tickets to see a folk-classical musician and singer called Agnes Obel, who is from Denmark. The concert was very classy and lovely. 2 cellists!
After Lausanne for 3 days, we spent the weekend at the chalet of a very kind and generous Swiss family, who knew Julia through a friend of a cousin. We met some cool people, drove up to the ...

The Swiss love their cheese and chocolate, but surprisingly, we are not seeing many overweight among the citizenry. I guess endless hiking up steep mountainsides gets rid of all of the calories.

... and potatoes, with a side of dried meat. Now we're not ones for fondue normally, but this was super delicious - very smooth with a creamy cheese flavor that was not too strong. We loved it. Then we washed it down with Gruyere's famous double cream and raspberries. Say no more! After lunch we toured the castle - took us 70 minutes and it was fascinating. Built in the 1500's it has lovely gardens, a tower you can climb (vertigo), many rooms with period furnishings and museum artifacts, ...

... the tasting room. Imagine trays and trays of every kind of chocolate Cailler makes meticulously laid out to tease and tempt all of your senses. There was only one rule: try as many as you'd like, but you can't take any chocolates with you. That's the kind of challenge the Goodner family likes to tackle. As we delicately placed each morsel into our mouth, it would slowly melt and gently caress our taste buds with the fabulous flavors of cocoa, milk, and ...
