... of the Via del Corso to the Piazza del Popolo which has a lovely atmosphere to it with the large open area. However this was too under construction like every other monument in Rome. After a quick bite to eat we headed back to Spanish steps to visit them during the day and then wandered to Trivi fountain and back to the hotel.

Later on that day we traveled down to Trastevere, part of the Historic district of Rome, by a double decker bus in which I got the front seat at the top. This spot had wonderful views of the city, as well as the horrifying experience of Italian driving. The bus got so close to vehicles, either parked or moving, that I was convinced at ...
... are lots of people and dogs enjoying a walk. Bought a roll and some snacks and a Red Bull. Boy, did that help! Sat in the shade of the trees at this little cafe. Had a ham and salad roll. It was lovely. Went down a treat. And a peanut type snack bar ... Delicious. Went back and bought 4 more for the plane. Funny conversation with the man at the counter. Four? Yep. Four. And another Red Bull. And another roll. Walked back to the hotel with a definite spring ...
... a good 60 to 90 minutes not having to stand in line waiting to be let in.
Anyway, had a good look around the place, which was having a fair bit of work done to it so there was a lot of scaffolding. More of this later.

... artwork" made out of the bones of Capuchin monks, it is very eerie, and definitely not something you see every day. Next, we made our way to the Spanish Steps... Very crowded... Then to an outdoor cafe for some drinks. Apparently we just missed John C. Reilly, who left the cafe moments before we arrived. After fortifying ourselves, we walked back to the Trastevere area for some dinner, then back to the hotel to start packing as we leave for the Amalfi Coast ...
