Today we were lucky enough to see another beautiful chateau. I didn't realize how many castles there actually are in France, but there are thousands and its truly incredible. The name of this one is Chenonceaux and it is located on the Loire Valley. It is one of the most well known castles of the area and is the second most visited castle in France behind Versailles.

... are constructed out of cement blocks, than spackled over with some kind of painted concrete. Homes here look like ancient, well cared for, charming country cottages. I am also noticing that the French like their privacy, so most homes have walls, of either shrubs or concrete, to block out noise and prying eyes. However, almost always, roses or flower bushes peep over these walls, almost apologizing for the "do not disturb" ...
