... with a guy from Edmonton, of all places, and we went on a tour to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. It was about a 5-6 hour excursion and was a really great experience. We all went out for dinner after and met up with some people from the night before. The streets were narrower, the buildings smaller, the cafes and restaurants catered for people that actually lived there, not just commuters. The alternative and trendy vibes were definitely part of the identity, but at the same time the fact that you could spot squats easily made things a bit more humble, a bit more down to earth, a bit more human even.
