Chengdu is een grote stad (4 miljoen inwoners) en er is vanalles te doen. Zo ging ik op een avond naar de Sichuan Opera, een mengeling van dans, slapstick, muziek, shaduwspel, marionetten en het beroemde veranderende maskers theater. Ook bezocht ik het River Viewing Pavilion en het bijhorende park met 200 of zo verschillende soorten bamboe (ik vond ze allemaal nogal op elkaar trekken).
