... 360 degree view of the area. More dodgy pics and vids uploaded for your pleasure! Headed out for the New Zealand world cup qualifier tonight, which was awful but at least they won (not that anyone cares).

Day 84 - Up early (9am) for the Ireland - France game, which was good, apart from Ireland losing. The pub was pretty full of Irish, and the lads i was meeting had stayed out from the night before. Although they weren't in a great state, at least they weren't in as sorry ...
Queenstown, South Island, New Zealand fruss... like to stay here for the next 2 weeks and not bother travelling any further. Many activities to do here if you are at a bit of an adrenlin freak but of course we stuck to the more sedate activities! However, saying that we booked a balloon ride for Sunday morning. The town is like a much bigger version of Aviemore, the feel is very much the same. Very friendly and the food is brill.
Anyway, woke up the ...
Queenstown, South Island, New Zealand ednabuchanHad some great skiing at Coronet Peak - 60 cm of new snow in last few days.

Seriously, after the rat-race this village is heaven. Everything is within walking distance - after Dorkland [read: Auckland], this is how life should be ...........not sitting in a traffic snarl 2 hours a day.

Get dammed hungry with all this exercise. Eating has become an occupational hazard.

Discovered Joes Cafe for ...
Queenstown, South Island, New Zealand kiwisdofly... got talking to a lady who told us about a free pasta meal that the local church does on Friday’s for anyone who wants to come by, naturally we were a little dubious but were soon reassured by our friend that this is a big local event and everyone goes along. I’m so glad that we did! Hundreds of people were there, I’ve no idea how they managed to cater for so many people but we all got spaghetti bolognaise with vegetables and garlic bread ...
Queenstown, South Island, New Zealand samsonite32... sky dive the freefall is much smaller but its all about the psychological build up and the courage to push yourself over the edge whereas in the skydive your so high up in the sky that height isn’t an issue. Im so glad I did and think I have completed my adrenalin things-to-do list. Chilled out in the evening at the cinema and went to see The Hangover….so funny. Glad to finish on a high after a terrible week.

Saturday 25th ……….woke up at 6 am to go on ...
Queenstown, South Island, New Zealand ravsta... to an awful death. I hear "2-1", put my hands on my head in disbelief - begin blinking randomly and just do it. For two seconds I just scream helplessly and then am, to my relief, jerked upwards by the huge elastic chord. At this point I feel safe - but not good as I just am literally in a state of shock and cursing profusely. The saviours in the raft at the bottom of the river drag me in and try to get sense out of me - but I'm still in a minor state of ...
Wanaka, South Island, New Zealand codownsean... the kitchen was closed so we had to go out and get junk food. Needing some fresh air we played a game of mini golf, this was rather comical and somewhat competitive, it also passed a good few hours. We had a short wander around town before having an afternoon kip. We then prepared ourselves for the quiz in the bar, unfortunately we didn't win but we gave it a good attempt. Leaving Queenstown in the morning we tore ourselves away from the bar for an early(ish) night.
Queenstown, South Island, New Zealand dlz... I'm looking forward to it. I finally feel settled here, New Zealand phone number, bank account, tax number, address and job. Even in this small amount of time I've realised anyone can do anything if you really want to (or have to) whether its starting a new life as a backpacker not knowing where you are going next or what you are going to do or committing yourself to another 3yrs of education by going to uni.
Queenstown, South Island, New Zealand jessmarshall... easy to get on a bus heading to Wanaka the next day - which was surprising, what with it being the holidays and all.

Once we had done that it was time to do something I've been waiting to do for a week - actually take some pictures of Queenstown!!!

I just love this town! We headed up Bob's Peak on the Gondola and got some of the most amazing views I have ever seen!

I took a whole roll ...
Queenstown, South Island, New Zealand sam.bewitching... sun outside the hangar. Shouldn’t he have been double checking the parachutes were correctly packed or something? Before this trip I’d long wanted to skydive but wasn’t so sure about bungy jumping. When it came to the crunch the bungy jumping was fairly easy, but the idea of this skydiving malarky was starting to trouble me. Most of all I think it was all the waiting around that did it, I had too much time for my brain to start mulling over all the ‘ ...
