... the river and brought us to the Staten Island ferry terminal where we were able to board a free ferry without having to wait. This ferry goes quite near to the Statue of Liberty and we were able to take photos. Standing at the back of the ferry also gave us good views back to the city.

... the footprint of the South Tower was a memorial wall with pictures of every single person that died on 9/11 and in the 1993 bombing. In the middle of that was a dark room lined with benches and a never ending projection of stories and pictures commemorating every person that died. Most of them had audio from a loved one telling a special story. It was so touching. I sat there for quite a while listening to all the tributes. ...
