... boardwalk. The Guggenheim is a shimmering, titanium-clad, ultra-modern structure and has been frequently photographed and has appeared in many films (James Bond). It reminded me of the Philharmonic in Paris that we tried to visit but our show was cancelled last spring. Saw many young guys in groups which is not surprising given the high % of unemployed youth in Spain. However, the rest of the city that we saw appeared ...

Tuesday April 7th Woke up to another beautiful sunny day so we thought we'd go and spend the morning in a cave. But this wasn't a cave where some ape-guy had tried his hand at doodling, no this was a cave that was part cave, part castle! This was Mont de Reignac, an amazing medieval castle built into the hillside and it really was good, you walked around ...

... quid down the *******. Low moment. But, to be fair, at least I didn't have to lug it around the airport.

Arrived in Bilbao, dazed and confused with tiredness and last minute packing. Judging by what I saw from the shuttle bus window to the city centre (in the dark), Bilbao is spectacular.

But I was far more psyched about the fact that my hostel was within walking distance of the bus station, even with all my excess (and excessive) baggage.
