NOW I read that it always rains all the time in north Spain. Should have read the literature before I guess. Ferry from Porthmouth to Bilbao was much cleaner and smarter than I expected. Now in Bilbao in a camping site that is actually closed except for the restaurant which is rather good. Not sure why they let us book? We are the only ones here and parked in the restaurant carpark. where there was a table with a telephone on it. It was supposed to ring once I
got there but it never did. In the hall, there was a "wishing tree," and a
table next to ...

Fine Wine and Fine (But Weird) Art

... of our day: Herederos del Marques de Riscal, one of Spain's oldest wineries (dating from 1860) and the first to introduce French techniques to Spanish grapes. Today, the winery is a full complex that dubs itself "The City of Wine" and is also distinguished by its hallmark building, a Frank Gehry design whose wine-colored "ribbons" of steel cascade down its limestone sides. (Gehry, who also designed the Guggenheim, was the theme of our day, I suppose.)
