Friends have brought back a very positive report of driving around France, and I would say the same of Spain if your focus is the countryside and smaller towns, not the cities. For five people, though, train would have been very expensive.

... nano companies, research firms, and universities in Europe. And you have to love Russia's big '**** YOU PEASANT' stand in the middle of the pavilion. Pictures to come tomorrow.

The day ended at 5:30, and there was a welcome reception at 7:30 but I didn't have it in me to stay another 2 hours. During the day I sort of talked to one f the lecturers but I didn't feel inclined to socialise more... I know, I will try harder!

... of our (my) favourite season - we are going to the Saanich Fall Fair this weekend, and are enjoying garden tomato sandwiches, socks and shoes, sweaters and hot tea as the weather begins to change.
