Florence is a city that benefits from a 4 day stay during which time you can really immerse yourself in all the glorious renaissance stuff it has to offer. We had the one day to enjoy it but having been before we did not mind especially as it was a sunny day. I love the Piazza della Signoria, where the statue of David by Michelangelo stands. With so many people telling me how lovely, and beautiful, the Tuscany region and Florence is, and then how much MORE beautiful Rome is, I decided to plan it. I forget, though, that people are not all the same, and what one person loves, another may only find interesting.

We weren't overly speedy though; we followed the self-guided tour of the city in our guidebook, which pointed out various ...

... that same greatness. I was a little disappointed.
.Menus in Italy (and most of Europe) don't display the prices of their drinks, only the food. So you think you're getting a good deal when you find a place with 6 euro pizza, only to find out that your 300ml can of drink cost you the same price. This actually happened to me, and I wanted to kill someone... That's $9 for a can of coke!
.Italian's are nice. Sometimes. But sometimes they're not. I can't put it ...
