A quiet small hotel in Lubeck suburbs. Over the road from supermarkets. 10 mins to the town itself. Good quiet comfortable rooms. Host has good English and is very accommodating.
Wifi not so good but adequate. Breakfast in nice dining room was very good. A wide variety.
    Good free car parking.

After an excellent breakfast with a view over the village countryside we headed off towards Lubeck arriving after an easy motorway drive at 2pm. With the assistance of our SatNav, Heidi, we found our next hotel in the suburbs of the city. Another small local hotel providing the real German experience. We have spent the afternoon relaxing and …

... many buildings to photograph and bore people with.
As I write , we have just pulled into a railway station, which has an enormous parking station, just for bikes, and is a commercial centre, what with all the shops, mainly offering food.
Lubeck is on the River Trave, and has many recreational anglers, the fish are definitely there, we saw them from the banks. We took a twenty minute train ride to Travemunde at the mouth. This place has ...

"The traveler was active; he went strenuously in search of people, of adventure, of experience." - Daniel J. Boorstin A fact that I have come to accept is that any adventure I set out on is guaranteed to explode beyond the predicted measures of excitement. My trip to Germany has been no exception. The truth is that I'm not complaining. In fact it's one of the things I look forward to. I begin every journey wondering how am I going to be ...

A bit of background is needed for this post....
Back in January when we were traveling around Scandinavia, we found a steakhouse. There we had our first yummy steaks of our trip. Peter made me go back to the same restaurant two days in a row (I put my foot down on the third day). We discovered it was a chain of restaurants and had it a few times in Sweden and Denmark. After that we resigned ourselves to not finding ...

We left Malmö yesterday morning and took a drive around Copenhagen to refresh our memories of the city. Then a long drive across Denmark to a stop at Hotel Ballumhus near the North Sea coast at Bredebro, and a visit to a Viking Museum. Today we had a look at some local ruins in Trojborg, visited the floodgates at the mouth of the Eider River and stopped at Brunsbuttel at the North Sea end of the Kiel ...
