Nach dem Kauf der letzten Weihnachtsgeschenke (ich hoffe, ich habe niemanden vergessen) und einer wunderbaren Viertelstunde in einer Buchhandlung (Nachschub!) mussten wir auch schon wieder die Schüler zusammentreiben und nach Hause fahren - es war zwar ein kurzer, aber sehr erfüllter und schöner Tag.
Um neun kam ich mehr als müde zu Hause an, und übermorgen steht mir die nächste Reise bevor, dann geht's über Weihnachten nach ...

Mountains, views and food
... beautiful scenic views. I had a chance to do some fishing - caught my limit and we cooked the trout in our kitchen. Wine at this altitude has a wonderful effect on supper believe me :)
Even though this is the end of the summer season the cable cars were running to all of the higher mountains and the air (between 12:00 and 4:00 pm was full of parasails and hang gliders. We stopped several times to watch them landing in the grass covered valley floors. ...
Sprechen sie Deutsch?

And after five weeks in Italy, the few bits of language I now know roll off my tongue, so it was to my shock and horror that I was stuck for any Deutsch even though I studied it for four years. Al Val Gardena in i Dolomiti
... and whipped up a fantastic risotto for dinner. We passed the evening playing cards, drinking wine and enjoying ourselves immensely.
We spent the rest of the week hiking around the Val Gardena, taking lifts up to the mountain meadows and just relaxing around the three main villages: Ortisei, Santa Christina, and Selva.
We also went to a folk dance show on Thursday evening. It was fabulous. It consisted of three acts: a group of 5 kids ...
