Arrived in our room with a king sized bed. More like a queen. Room was small and cramped although nicely furnished. Beds were so so in terms of comfort.

Walls are thin. You can hear everything.

Very central location, within walking distance of the main streets and of the harbour. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, no matter what time of day or night. They were all very knowledgeable and able to answer any questions we might have and give advice and help arranging tours. There is a great view from the Sky Lounge and you can get reasonably priced drinks and light snacks, plus a fairly basic but reasonable buffet breakfast. The only downside of the hotel from our point of view was the lack of storage space in the room, just a couple of small shelves and a few hangers on an open rail. We prefer to be able to unpack properly but, in this case, had to live out of a suitcase.

Got to CDG what I thought was early, only to find a long line to check in/drop off my bag at Iceland Air....guess I wasn't that early! Had a very smooth flight, got in to Keflavik around 9:30. Was able to walk right out to the "Fly Bus"....the very efficient bus from airport to Reykjavik that you can pre-book. Stepping out of the airport it was a …

Beautiful scenery and fabulous views of Iceland's second largest glacier - no pics though as we were mostly preoccupied with finding our way off of the road!! Finally we arrived at our first place!! ... d fallen to the routine of doing the same job week after week and it took the news that the worst summer in 100 years was ahead of us to made me realize that and put a smile on my face. If I could experience something so unique like that, what else was in store for us? In the next weeks I expect to see orkas in the harbour, unicorns dancing around on rainbows and the most sunshine Reykjavik ever had. Everything is possible, that's what I have to keep in mind.

Brrrrr it's cold - icy cold iceland.

It as some soured milk/yoghurt that Icelanders like to drink. I added some normal milk from Max's supply and Don added water. Mine was bearable, Don's was not. So I made us a cup of soup each and we had an Icelandic beer. A very nutritious ...

Everyone voted to continue in spite of the weather. Is a very historic place in Icelandic history All their ceremonial events have been held on the cliffs overlooking this valley. Within a century or two Iceland will be split in half! Did the walk through History that they have set up for the ...
