    ... be realistic and recognise that building of such age are bound to look a little aged but this one just looks grubby.

    I found this to be rather cold and bleak and looking 'unloved'. Surprising considering the great pride which the community obviously take in their cathedral with it being used as the centre piece of the light show every evening.

    ... hopes weren't high and then I opened the door and walked up a small flight of steps and WOW!

    it is modern and quite spectacular. The ceiling has been designed in wood to resemble the ipturned hull of a boat whilst the 16th century stained glass windows, salvaged from St Vincents prior to it being destroyed in World War Two line the wall at the 'back'of the altar.     A very, very long day sitting in trains! The journey from Lourdes, returning to Paris is 6 hours with less than an hour to cross from one side of Paris to other to catch my train to Rouen.
