... Wow, what a day. In total we spent about 3 1/2 hours actually snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef and it was an experience that will always remain with us. We rounded the day off with several schooners of beer and a couple of wagyu burgers. Well, we are on Australia after all :-) The next day we got on the road and headed for Mossman Gorge and Daintree village. Mossman Gorge was lovely and a great place to enjoy a leisurely walk. It very ...

... This has been NAIDOC week, celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. There have been many activities including the gathering in the garden in front of the Marina where we watched dancers and singers performing.

Along the side of the van park runs the Freshwater Creek. Wide concrete paths cover more than seven kilometers. From our park we join it mid-way so a return walk in either direction is seven kms. The water is ...

We were happy to go with whatever and soon the four of us were booked ok for the next morning with a scuba dive and snorkelling up our sleeves! Having mentioned it for a few days, there was a general ...

... I could see it but it was too far to take a good picture from.

Finally we got to the hotel. I say hotel but they're more like apartments really. Then came my first humiliation. Mum had asked me to find some brochures downstairs. While I was there I took the opportunity to find the pool. Boy did I ever find that pool. I found it and managed to lock myself outside in the process. “Well done Lilli” I thought to myself. “It’s ...

... intention to have lunch but it was so crowded, couldn't get a park and every venue looked packed, but it is school holidays so continued driving back along the coast then up to Kuranda.
5/7/15-Tolga markets-great little market with plenty of fresh produce and stalls.
6/7/15-Hooray charger arrived. Chiro for Rob then down to Cairns to collect a "Water crossing Bridle" for the car. Had to order as there are none in sight anywhere up here, had ...
