... decided to open the check-in line early, I owe them a debt of gratitude. We'd only been sitting for 45 minutes or so, when they announced that check-in for our flight would be boarding early. This meant that not only did the 3 bored Jetstar counter staff at baggage check-in now have something to do, it also meant that the growing crowd of people beginning to clog up the domestic terminal could be discipated.

... day! I had three outfits to model, and pressure to do them justice! I got good feedback though, so perhaps I did okay after all. There are 200-odd photos from the shoot, being a model is hard work!

Sunday we rode in style on the Shinkansen, or bullet train, to Kyoto. After a short bus ride, our touring started with Nijo Castle. The main palace is huge, 3,300 square meters of linked sections. You have to take your shoes off to tour it and pictures are prohibited. The rooms are mostly void of furniture but the sliding doors are lavishly decorated. The floor in the palace has an intentional squeak which was used as a security device to hear anyone ...

The next day, we explored Osaka-jo and walked around the castle for the day. My favorite part was spotting the different clans symbols on the surrounding walls.
