    ... and non-touristy....he sent us to an extremely quiet neighborhood square that had only one restaurant. We sat outside, and in true European style, our meal took over two hours! We did not have any pasta, believe it or not! It was sliced steak and mashed potatoes and we ordered roasted potatoes, too....and was all very good, especially the beef....but not what we traditionally think of as Italian food! Very interesting!     ... Within 5 minutes of getting off the boat, the downpour began. As neither of us had had time to get an umbrella before leaving the ship, we were stuck with no protection from the rain. After walking for a little bit longer, the tour guide finally got us to some protection, however by this time we were wet, cold and a little miserable.     ... We got to our lovely room around one. Everyone else from the group is in the nicer hotel, but we like ours just fine. We did a walkabout through San Marco square with our tour guide Audrey, and she bought us our first gelato. We were then free to roam.
