    ... buy it. We found one where a little older lady was sitting alone stitching, while surrounded by various examples of her craft. We bought some, of course. The town is a palette of pastels, each small building adding its own rich color. A home owners association nightmare, but beautiful.

    ... it so much because of how "touristy" it is but it really isn't that busy right now ( I think their tourist season is coming to an end ) and it has it's own very unique history from the rest of Italy which I didn't know prior to visiting.i only wish I understood the history better.     ... would need to pay an extra 50Eur each but we didn’t mind - just wanted to get on the train. Steve went to get his wallet and it was gone – guess by whom???? He just lost it – I thought he was going to faint – total panic.     To enable us to have the most amount of time in Venice while still being able to return to the boat on time, we started our trip into Venice early. We were up, off the ship and at the Rialto Bridge 9am. This timing was good for several reasons – we got to experience 'peak hour' and since we had decided to not partake in breakfast on board, we were able to have breakfast near the Grand Canal (twice).

    The day started late as Nikki got in at 0600 and collapsed into bed!

    She started stirring around 1000 and managed to come out for a walk with us by 1030. We headed towards St Mark's Square. As expected, we were greeted by hordes of tourists in the square! It was always our intention to get here at 0700 so as to beat the crowds.
