... Familly owned. Packed every night, patio and inside. A hidden gem along the way, the church of S Pantalon. Built in the 12C, renovated in the 17C. Without doubt the most breathtaking ceiling mural we have ever seen. 50c to turn on the low intensity viewing lights for 1 minute. Side altars carved out of solid rock originating in 12c (still in their original structure and carving). Unfortunately no photographs. We were able thopurchase ...

... of Florence.. Cappuccinos every morning and croissants for breakfast. Meeting Rose in the morning for a second cappuccino and then off to explore.. how sweet. I have to say the Bobbili gardens which Rose suggested was by far the surprise tour. It had a aurora about it, long treed paths, open spaces.. little side hide aways..lovely. It was so nice to have Rose with us.. She tolerated me wellJ.

We bought our tickets for the trip back to San Marco Square, the main piazza and hub of Venice. This took us across a small section of the Grand Canal. A busy, bustling water-highway with water bus, motor taxi, gondolas and private craft all observing the water rules as there were no mishaps and was a fun way to ...

... Lambrusco they had got from a supermarket. Very fun trip. When we got off we waited for them, took selfie photos and hugged goodbye to go our separate ways. This finished about 7.15pm. There was also an English couple who had been in their gondola who very also very nice. Short walk back to the restaurant Giovanni had recommended yesterday and we had made a booking for 8 o'clock earlier in the day. We were a bit worried when we got there as all the tables on the canal were gone ...

... found a place for dinner where I finally got my gnocchi fix that I desperately needed, (not Nonna standard, but not bad) and we all ate well. We then made it back to the water buses and rode back to Venice, only to get lost on the way to our hotel, and waste about thirty minutes going in circles. Eventually we found our way, washed up and went to bed. Ciao Venezia, we will miss your unmistakable character and your annoying street layout, and hope to be back soon! Next stop: San ...
