The tops of all of the train's freight cars were covered with Mexicans hitching a free ride on the freight train.. I guess that they tolerate this, especially during Xmas..
They are not quite so tolerant of the Guatamaulians that hitch rides on Mexican freight trains from Guatamala through Mexico to the US border, a trip of 2,000 or 3,000 kilometers..

... trips to San Marcos where we met an artisan working in Obsidian and to Magdelena where we met up with some folks processing Opals. We toured the Obsidian artist's work area and ordered a few pieces from him which we arranged for pick up later in the day; then went off to Magdelena.
