We spent a week at the Josefina Escuela Espanol en Cultura - in a gorgeous Mexican posada. Lotus's class was all about learning through activities - so she did paper crafts, games, and time in the kitchen mastering fresh hand-made tortillas and quesadillas.

My programme was a mix of conversation and language. Off to a good start, but by Day 3, I hit 'new content overload' as the rusty cob-webbed cogs of my mind felt increasingly ...

... into San Miguel on Fridays and long traffic jams leaving San Miguel on Sunday nites, or on what ever day the long weekend ends (the Mexicans seem to have a lot of 4 days long weekends) say otherwise... Also that explanation does not explain the long lineups in the stores and restuarants...

... dishes from various parts of the country all presented beautifully and served with friendly good humor. (I would call the Parroquia a cathedral but I'm told that because there is no archbishop assigned to San Miquel, it cannot carry the name "cathedral.") I wanted to go there for my birthday dinner this Thursday but they, as many places have during this quieter low season, are closed for a little vacation.
