From the ship we boarded a bus for a tour of the city. It took us around the bay
of the city.Then a Short street to the Pacific side where the
Cliff divers are. We were able to shop for about 30 minutes, then went through the la brea hotel to
look at the cliff where the divers jump from ...

ACAPULCO
First stop on the cruise is beautiful sunny Acapulco Mexico.
Due to some wind and rain last night the ship is about 2 hours behind schedule.
We will be docking in Acapulco around 2pm or 12 noon Pacific time.
We are only here about 5 hours and have booked a tour of the Cliff Divers and Acapulco City ...

Jag åkte till en stor arkeologisk site norr om Mexiko City som heter Teotihuacan, för att hjälpa till att slitna ner resten av ruinerna genom att gå över dom. Vi var inte m¨nga turister där, för det är låg, för att det är lågsäsong nu antar jag. Det är inte ofta du önskar att du var omgärdad av fler turister men när gatuförsäljarna utnumrerar sitt byte (turisterna) 3:1 får du varenda gatuförsäljares ögon på dig och dom går i ...

... el calor era sofocante, mi marino me arrastraba a todos lados jalándome de la mano y abriendo paso entre la gente ^^
Nos divertimos mucho, Luisito (el oficial del barco de quien me enamoré perdidamente) se aventó del bongie, en el antro nos vocearon y mandaron saludos, hicimos tal escándalo que todos supieron dónde estábamos.
No tengo mucho que decir porque lo arruinaría, pero nuevamente... Si Acapulco hablara!!

... fecha y perdiendo los ánimos hasta que hartas lo dejamos para el 3 de Julio, aún cuando ese fin de semana había ley seca por elecciones... YA EL CHISTE ERA IR.
Salimos de Toluca como a las 6 y tomamos la carretera a Tenango, pasamos Ixtapan, calculo que por Coatepec Harinas nos paramos a preguntar cómo salíamos a la del Sol y unos ñores borrachos que estaban chupando en la orilla de la carretera nos trataban de explicar ...

For the weekend, we followed the trend in Mexico City -- take a break and go to the beach. And therefore, Acapulco it was. Although it was a break in some ways (I mean, it´s a beautiful beach) it was actually much more hectic than Mexico City in many ways -- crazy drivers, non-stop vendors trying to sell you ...

... Marta & Theodora perhaps stronger. They sat for hours chatting things over... Anna & Carlos also came down for the weekend and we all walked down to the market which was full of photo-opportunities, and then Carlos and I walked slowly back through the backstreets of his hometown whilst the others took a taxi back laden with all sorts of fish. We ate handsomely - one day and enormous Paella - and lazed around the house mostly, and soon it was time for Alex to return to Mexico City.

... before emerging atop a low promontory where a stunning prospect awaited: a broad arc of golden sand stretched away towards a distant point where the bare brown hills of the interior dipped down to meet the ocean; and the crescent of coastal shelf that lay between the mountains and the foaming surf glowed emerald-green with the foliage of coconut-palms. As I glided past the plantations the day's work was drawing to a close. Harvesters walked homewards with machetes ...

... more real bit was quite nice. Eventually managed to cool amy off so we went to have a sneaky peek at the cliff divers. They were amazing and so crazy. Diving fourty feet off the cliffs into a small pool of seawater. It was funny to watch them scale the cliffs and pray at there shrines before jumping. We then checked out a cute little mexican cafe in the zocalo. The following day we returned to the beach we had a beer at the day before and just sat on the sand ...

... with a few pesos - a very enjoyable way to spend our last afternoon in Mexico. And so, with Mike and Rob safely on the plane back to the UK, i had just enough time for a bit more shopping, before it was my turn to head back accross the Atlantic. I left the Zocalo in beautiful sunshine, crowded with tourists, markets stalls, flags, demonstrators, and people going about there everyday lives, pretty much as i had found it three months ago - i won't forget this place in a hurry! marky x
