We left the hotel at about 08:30 am and made our way to the Rialto Alilugano landing stage. Carbon copy repeat of a previous experience trying to sail into Portofino - rough seas meant it was too dangerous to tender ashore, so instead we docked in Genoa.

We did the church and then the village for the morning. Took a death defying bus trip home (15 mins) standing room only..clinging on to railing and a bus driver who drove with one hand on a tiny winding one car width road! Paul said he was driving with one hand because he had to hang on with the other. Valid ...

... you could imagine it maintains all of its original turn-of-century charm. A stay at the former monastery is like entering another world, a Portofino haven of luxurious relaxation. With a matchless laid back and serene ambiance with impeccable service that many hotels in its caliber replace with a stuffy and pretensions atmosphere.

The Hotel achieves a perfectly unique balance between elegance and decadence to create a truly refined and ...
