... hill about 10km to Castelcivita which is a town perched impossibly to the side of a steep mountain. Just below this is a cave network called Grotte di Castelcivita. We joined the 4:30pm tour and spent an hour wandering through the caves enjoying the respite from the heat. At the end we headed home for a simple BBQ dinner and few wines.

... bus and headed down the staircase to the family home, where I was greeted warmly by a sweet, sweet old Italian man, who was probably about five feet tall, and his son, who fortunately spoke English. The son took me to my room, where I about fainted from shock. I had my own room. And the beds had TWO FULL PILLOWS and a HUGE, SOFT COMFORTER. And no bedbugs. I checked. Tues Dec 7th

My goodness, the sun rained down on us from above as though the Roman Gods were smiling at us. It was a very mellow day ….especially Gail as she made laundry look like a day's work (2 minutes to put it in the machine) then sank herself into the lawn chair on the deck.
