Day 1: As usual we woke up to breakfast on our porch only this time it was a little earlier...6 o'clock. We wanted to leave a little earlier because we had been told we'll actually get to take a real bus, with air conditioning and everything, if we show up there for 7:30. With our hopes up we got in the regular becak's and headed to the bus depot. Upon arrival we were again promised a large a/c bus with no smoking...this quickly ...

Today, I go to the reception to extend my stay for another night and am told that the hotel is fully booked for tonight!!!! I really don't want to change hotels as that will take too much time so I decide that I will leave today for Bogor. I ask at the receptionist for a door to door AC minivan and they make my reservation to leave at 1pm. There is really not enough time to do more visiting so I decide to walk to a mall close to the hotel ...

I started the day by visiting the tourist office. I really didn't get much information other than there is a tour that I can take for 500,000 and once I decide if I am going to take it, the fellow (the only one at the office) will write out the itinerary!!! It basically sounds like a rented car and driver and am told that the driver does not speak much english!!! I guess I don't need the tourist office to do ...

The last day I was in Bandung I went to a little food stall where the sign advertised Tempe. I told him I wanted tempe with vegetables and could he make it? He said yes, and I sat down. The place was pretty busy, always a good sign Well the bowl came and it was about 8 ounces of chunks of beef fat and a few vegetables over rice. I yold him I ordered tempe and he said "In there" and he and his co-worker ...

What?!? $1 more than the train ride that only got us ¾ of the way to our destination!!! Awesome! So we finally caught a break. On to Bali for a couple days of sun and sand.
