Oh wahat a glorious view to wake up to this morning, rooster crowing at 5.30 and a beautiful sunrise at 6 am quick Skype to mum and dad and before we knew it it was 8am and down to breakfast. Off to Santorini this morning. We sailed at 11 and after one and a half hours we pulled into Naxos. Some passengers got off on this island yet a lot got on the boat here heading for Santorini. Another hour and a half cruising and we arrived. It was amazing coming into port. Stuart surprised me, he stayed with me as we came into port. But, Stuart tells me Simos told him that the cruise we are taking Saturday afternoon around the island you will get great photos. We meet our bus ...

No lava, no geysers (besides us), no bubbling pools of mud. Chris was impressed. We salvaged ...

... cute roof top terrace overlooking the town, the scenery here is breathtaking. It was one of those picturesque moments, something that you have seen on a post card, only now we are actually here seeing it with our own eyes. The white and blue buildings clinging to the mountain side with the sun setting behind them was a stunning view. We are feeling pretty lucky today. Steve had fun cruising around the windy roads of Santorini. Tomorrow we’re off to Ios. ...

    Fira and Oia

A travel blog entry by onighjoy on Jul 19, 2013

The weather here is like being in the dessert. Hot under the sun but cool in the shade. The days are hot and nights cool. Dry with no mosquitos. I find it very comfortable.

This afternoon, we visited Fira, the biggest town on the island. Its loaded with people, restaurants and shops. It felt like a port town that we visited in the Caribbean, one where cruisers get off their boat to spend the day (spend being the important word!). The view to ...
