... The cruise ship Queen Elizabeth has been here all day. -it is very elegant compared to other giant cruise ships. We went to a museum that has reconstructed the Thiran wall Paintings from Akrotiri. It sounds naff but as you can't see them otherwise and it has been done very well it was worthwhile. It is still lovely and warm and we have had another good meal out. Despite this being a tourist town, the food is really good and it's not difficult to find good value places to ...

We watched the sunset and it was funny the people on the "beach" clapped when it was over - really Mother Nature puts this show on every night, and then she repeats it in the opposite way in the morning, making it come up. Upon arrival at hotel which was ...

We then sailed and got to have the incredible experience of watching the beautiful sunset over the water. It's been a magical, relaxing time in Oia. We are off tomorrow, but this was definitely one of the best places I have ever been ...

... to us. It was Argo's and we dined on delicious shrimp pasta and lamb. We sat next to a wonderful couple celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary. They lived in Sydney and had a three month trip planned through Europe. We have met so many really kind people from different countries, truly reminding us that we are all God's children and have far more in common than we have differences. After dinner, we wandered through the maze of shops, squeezing ...

      The Volcanic Island of Santorini

Santorini was formed when a volcano erupted around 1628 BC. The entire center of the original island blew up and formed a caldera, the biggest in the world that is filled with seawater. The water is so deep that there is only one spot that ships can drop anchor. The buses that take you to the top of the island have to drive up switchbacks on a road that was carved into the side of the landmass ...
