... I bought the watch. After a banana and a chocolate milk I jumped on the bus back to Oia. There was a lady behind me who repeated 'I don't like this' and 'slow down buddy' some twenty times as the bus does travel alongside a cliffs edge. I just turned my music up. When I got home there was some confusion about what time it was - our iPads were different from everyone's watches. Christine then clued in that it must have been daylight savings time ...

... the choices. We watched the sunset and it was funny the people on the "beach" clapped when it was over - really Mother Nature puts this show on every night, and then she repeats it in the opposite way in the morning, making it come up. So we eventually found a restaurant, had dinner and then walked some more before heading this time to catch the sea bus , again only one stop but was much more enjoyable for 2euro each. Upon arrival at hotel which was ...

... There was a large American group next to us who were pretty obnoxious arguing with the waiters and complaining a lot. Afterwards we went for a walk I wanted to buy an evil eye necklace but they were around 35e and looked very flimsy so I couldn't justify it. Instead we had some gin and tonics and a choc coconut banana crepe for 30e. We got the bus back at 11pm- tix 4.4e Total 113e Steps ...

A travel blog entry by pcopperfield on May 22, 2014

22 May Breakfast at this hotel is so good - fresh bread, cheese, jam, coffee. After breakfast we got a local bus to OI, which is about 20 km north on the island. OI is the most scenic part of the island. The bus dropped us at the main parking area. This place is drop dead fantastic with many pathways lined with cafés and shop, and a unbelievable amount of nooks and crannies to explore. Mum just couldn't contain herself and went into almost every jewelry ...

      Santorini - Day 2

A travel blog entry by scottandmel on Jan 23, 2014

This morning we walked into Oia and rented a car from a guy we had met the day before. We then set out to explore the Island. We filled up the car in Fira and then drove to to a little village called Kamari and then out from there to see Ancient Thira. We had to drive up a very steep and windy road and then walk up even higher from there before we got to the ancient city. We explored the ruin which ...
