Yesterday we were in Corfu, one of a group of Greek Islands in the Ionian Sea. We decided not to go ashore, but instead to take a well-earned day of rest for our muscles. We have been walking between 2 and 5 miles every day, with a lot of steps. So we both soaked in the hot tub, and then got massages and then thermal beds ...

The brochure that came with the tickets said the site "flourished from the 10th. century BC ..." ie over 12,000 years ago, as a major religious, cultural and sporting site for the region. So it's certainly ancient and their sense of sport extended to human sacrifices in honour of the gods, according to the signage on one monument we passed.
