... in the car with our sleeping angels while parked along Agrippa Street. Then it was back home to unload, shave and shower. We then headed to Gival Sorfateet for a pleasant supper with Peter and Rut Slyomovics, while the boys had their first experience of watching Israel TV. Their shloof on the way back to Jerusalem energized them, in their wild and crazy way. Hence, the TV was an easy way to keep them from completely bouncing off the ceilings. F

Good Times: Boarder Crossing from Jordan to Israel

... other side and exchanged some money. Important: there are NO ATMs at this border crossing! You need to take cash- either US or Jordanian. We took a mini bus straight to Jerusalem, which took 45 minutes and cost 37.00 New Israel Shekel (NIS) to get to the Old City. So all in all it took all morning and a good chunk of the afternoon to go from Amman, Jordan to Jerusalem, Israel. My advice- take some food, snacks and a good book and be ready to sit and wait.

Addison was impressed too as she was extremely cute, even though she did bring him the children’s menu and asked him if he wanted crayons. ... to get there. So we headed out towards Jericho and took Highway 90 south to Ein Gedi. I have to say the Dead Sea was everything I thought it would be. That was the first time in my life that I've ever gotten to float flat on my back. normally I float like a rock. A large heavy Titanic-shaped rock... Seriously, if I try to float flat on my back, my legs start sinking first and they pull me at an angle under the water. Oh and the Dead Sea is a lot ...

Oh Jerusalem

Today, we are actually at the Dead Sea, the lowest place on Earth, although this certainly doesn't describe our spirits. We arrived yesterday, after 3 tumultuous days in Jerusalem. By this, I mean that that our experiences in Jerusalem were a mixture of awe, activity, and frustration.

First, the awe. Jerusalem is a city almost beyond words. It leaves you simultaneously breathless and speechless. The road from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem is like the aorta of the country, the ...

... complete with people recreating the activities of that day. When we were walking out of the visitor center, we first had to go through a door, or gate. There was a big door, and within it, a smaller door. This was a typical thing they had during that time. Whenever they wanted animals to go through, they opened the bigger door. But the smaller door was for people. So when Jesus told the people of that day (in Matthew ...

Climbing Mountains In The Lowest Place On Earth

... a full-length sarong) and the boys wore shorts and t-shirts. The experience was odd, to say the least, but also a lot of fun! The water is so salty that you can’t put your head under the water as it stings your eyes, ears, nose and mouth if you get any on your face. Ben’s beard started stinging after only a few minutes! The sensation of floating is certainly strange, and unlike anything I’ve experienced before ...

... got left behind. And it gets frustrating when someone gets left behind who can't find their way on their own and who just decided to stop and look in a shop or something. I think I'm going to like walking at my pace in the coming days. So, my tooth still hasn't stopped hurting. In fact, it seems to have gotten worse. I decided to see a dentist here and now because I can get a reliable referral. That wouldn't be so easy in Turkey or Greece. Thankfully our ...

The other exhibit contained significant items from Israel's history, such as the first Israeli flag to be flown upon independence, the actual peace treaties signed with Egypt and Jordan (!!), alternative designs for the flag and coat of arms, and pages from the diary of Israeli astronaut Ilan Ramon, which miraculously survived when his space shuttle exploded.

My favourite item here was a sheet of lyrics for the moving song ...

Oh course I asked for more fruit... it was pineapple! Got to London. While the plane was landing, i tried looking for something I could recognize. I saw no big ben, no London bridge. Quite disappointing. HOWEVER, I did see people driving on the other side of the street and ...
