Woke up early and had a cafe and apfel streusel and drove to Hohwnschwangan to visit Schloss Neuschwanstein. The longer we drove, the larger and more breathtaking the mountains became. Just outside of Hohwnschwangan we stopped at a pull off in the shade for lunch. The closer to the palace we saw many people paragliding around the mountains. Parked and walked up Aplseesraße (a road) to get on the bus to take us up near base of the ...

... stop, and found it to be very refreshing. Our hotels have been mostly, really nice, a couple of mediocre ones, one bad one, and one unique farmhouse experience. All in all its been amazing, and I couldn't have had a more easy going, loveable travelling companion. It has been great fun, and we would thoroughly recommend this type of travel to anyone. We have locked our bikes in the bike racks at the airport, along with 50 or 60 others, and we ...

After a few days of gradual up hills, we had quite a good downhill section. In fact in 2 kms there were 18 locks, so the canal dropped away very quickly. We left the Doubs River behind in the first hour, and the rest of today's ride was along the Rhone au Rhin canal, ( except for the detours, which ...

... head into the village and the bar. We did note that on the main road which we cycled on this morning that a Hotel & Bar does look good for business. Let's hope in time this place picks up and lives again. A few new residents have done places up. You can pick up a barn for £40,000! Clive actually said he wouldn't mind living here, me too. But the bar would clearly have to stay Open! We really like this place a lot and it is definitely the quietest and nicest Aire this ...

Today we had a big day, another 100 km. We didn't get off to a great start, with me having a puncture, flat tyre, whatever, our first for the trip, and before we had even left the city. It was a bit of glass, and may have been there for a few days, as the tyre wasn't completely flat. I'm glad John could handle it all, he had all the tools, pump etc, and some CO2 canisters if we needed them. I just looked useless, but offered lots of words of encouragement, and some ...
