... played songs on an accordion all night while the locals sang along to the songs. We then went to Peter's Brauhaus which was filled with people dressed for the carnival. The beer there was amazing. After Peter's we went to the local kebab shop and had a yufkta and the guy actually baked the bread on the spot for us. I was making my way to Dusseldorf Hafen, this is the media harbour a rejuvenated area of once docklands now hosts the media and the Rhine Tower, the old harbour buildings have been updated into offices or accommodation, I can imagine it would be an expensive place to live.

... saved time queuing, the baggage check in was very easy and automated, the machine weighed the bad then printed out a label to attach and off it went down the conveyer belt. Passport control went smoothly too and this gave me plenty of time for a coffee and relax before the flight, up to now it was going just fine and I was enjoying my little adventure.

Left Cologne after the am peak, and onto the ring road then autobahn with little stress. Heading towards Hameln, the main road was closed....assume road works, as road repairs and construction was prolific. The deviation brought us through Bad Lippspringe. ... a bad start. First, my alarm didn't go off so thankfully the Asians were making a ton of noise that woke me up and I quickly rushed to the lobby to print my ticket. Then, the stupid slow wifi wouldn't load my ticket so I had to either miss my train by waiting for said train ticket to print or pay to have it printed at the station.
