      ... deep gorges, by the middle of the afternoon we turned off the main road and dropped down the side if a gorge, at one point it was so tight you could have touched both sides, however you would have got wet feet in the river. It's amazing how the roads are cut into the hillsides. Passing through a very narrow road in a village the overhanging balconies had their height painted on them, luckily the lowest was 3.5 metres.

      The wind has dropped quite considerably overnight, but the noisy sea has kept us awake, I am craving some peace and quiet! We are heading for Zakros gorge today, an easy 7 kilometre walk, if the river isn't too full! It's well signposted and we parked up at car park A, next to another camper from Austria.       ... if the cove there us a house tucked back from the sea. We parked in front of the small lake where we could hear a loud animal sound, it sounded like a very loud cricket, after some research we decided that it was a Cretan marsh toad. We walked went for a walk through the olive groves, for an hour or so.       ... a few smaller speed boats and yachts and some children just back from sailing were washing off a their of toppers, We walk back around to the harbour and decided it would be a nice place to stay for the night.
