The market was near the marina. Thelea, from Exas Yachts, had given us some suggestions in her final communication as to what we needed to buy. While Shirley and I ...
Well, a very enjoyable last night in Santorini. had dinner at a lovely restaurant overlooking the sunset strip. Pity it wasn't the clearest of nights but still spectacular.
Dinner consisted of grilled pork with pureed red pepper and potatoes with cheese and Souvlaki Lamb with baked potato.
A 5.00 am start got us on to the flight to Athens then Rome.
After a sleep in we wandered into town to choose a suitable location for our anniversary dinner tonight (21 years!).
As usual we just had to take more photos ~ don't worry, after a few more tonight this will be all of Santorini.
Next, Italy where the forecast is 0 to 14 degrees. BRR BRR

The main village is called “chora” (as is the case for the main village on any small Greek island). The Chora here is a 16th century town built overlooking the ocean along the edge of a 1,000 ft cliff. It is considered the most pristine and preserved of the classic white Cyclades villages (the white villages you see in all of the photos of Greek). The town has a dozen narrow, pedestrian only streets that are paved with ...

Agios Georgios Beach:
We continued on our journey till the very northern tip of the island to a beach called Argios Georgios. This is a nice sandy beach and very quiet, probably due to its distance from the main hub of Chora. It was nice to have the whole beach to ourselves, save for only a few other couples. We stayed at the beach for ...

Dinner at Chora:
By the time we reached Chora, we were totally famished! Due to my tiredness and hunger, I just sat myself down at the first decent restaurant in central Chora and asked for the menu. Although Argi was not happy with my choice, he was too nice to protest. The restaurant has an
English menu, much to my delight, and I started ordering my food, which was more Italian ...

But overall, if you are not a person who appreciate ancient stuff, you won't enjoy it.
We were a little disappointed to see nothing but rocks.
Half way, we asked a couple who is on their way down, whether there is anything interesting up there. The man tell us there is some archaelogical site, and people were ...
So, this is my second time in Santorini. I knew I had to return, because the first time absolutely blew my mind. But, have you ever just had a moment when you felt true beauty, where nature made you feel at awe, and when you wondered how on earth were the Greeks so lucky to live here? Well, that's how I felt visiting my first time. And, I definitely felt this the ...
Santorini, Greece utgurl03... hill with a very windy road leading up to it) for the sunrise. In theory, it was a great idea. However, I had my doubts that we would all motivate in time to make the hike up there. We agreed to set our alarms and give it our best shot. True to our words, we all got up at 5:30 a.m. and began the hike. The initial walk was indeed uphill, however, there was a paved, winding path leading up to the church. When we arrived to the church and the gate was locked, Chad and Bill hopped the ...
