    Beach Paradise

A travel blog entry by anlnewby on Jun 11, 2015

Today started like the last few. An early wake up for me and a nice gentle sleep in for Lisa. Today Lisa was happy to make breakfast and did a wonderful job. The day started cloudy and we weren't sure whether it would be a good day to camp out at the beach for the whole day. We decided to go anyway and the cloud cover soon moved to a beautiful sunny day. The water was amazing and fresh like ice to our warm ...

... small compared to Santorini, but the beaches here are way better. It's a lot more "resorty" than I thought it would be. I can't believe we only paid eight euros a night! We met up with the group and shared a pizza and caesar salad for dinner. We figured it would be cheaper for the four of us to get a taxi to town than each of us buying bus tickets. ... on my way.

The past two and a half days have been eventful to say the least. Misfortune or let's be optimistic and call it adventure, always seems to follow me. Let me explain in short form, or at least I'll try. A late night walk in the pitch black down a path alongside the cliffs of Santorini followed by a dangerous venture along the even darker highway on the first night, reinforced the lesson of it's better safe than sorry. So with this reminder, ...

... and I think I still had a smile on my face from the events of last night. We had a yummy breakfast again, and then arranged to hire a quad bike for the day through the hotel. It was great service - they dropped off and picked up the bike, which we had for 24hrs. We set off and did a bike test run along the dirt road before hitting the streets. We had about 1/4 tank of fuel so headed towards Oia, expecting to see a petrol station along the way. Little ...
