An uncertain start to the day with the refuge on my planed route booked out. Instead I went the longer flatter way starting from Goritsia. To get there I had to hitch hike from Litochoro for the first time ever by myself. I got picked up in under 10mins by a lovely elderly czech couple also going hiking. A rough night on a bright, loud, cramped train but got off just before dawn. Thankfully worked out the connecting train. Got to Litohoro at dawn, met a greek climber who helped me get a lift with some soldiers in the back of an army truck! Got into town and realised that the hostel was in the other direction. Taxied back. Back to town for supermarket lunch. Now trying to get as much advice about the climb as possible. ...
