Mar del Plata, Argentina pamericas... but mostly in the summer months from November through February. I moved here from Cordoba thinking it would be quieter than either of the cities I lived and worked in, but it has much night life and the appearance of a city like Ipanema, where the beaches face the tall hotels and buildings of the city.

Mar Del Plata, Capital Federal District, Argentina logb... on the beach walk which have nice and amazing view while eating. I stayed at Hotel Pergamino for 25 ARS. The reception is the most wonderful woman who gives out a lot of tourist information for free. The rooms are mixed with shared bathroom and definitely worth the stay. I took the overnight bus to Puerto Merydin to watch the penguin colony.
Mar Del Plata, Argentina canadiansmiley... I also managed to pick a dud place to stay - I don´t know how, it looked good on hostelworld´s site. It was a hotel, not a hostel (first mistake) and so didn´t have any meeting areas or Internet points. Also it is currently in construction! My room was really dusty and the builders arrived early enough to shoot any ideas of a lie in down. And as it isn't busy, I had the room to myself which ordinarily would be great, but seeing as the beach wasn´t what ...
Mar del Plata, Central Argentina, Argentina johnsa32... along miles of beach. Since its still off season, its pretty quiet around here. Apparently it´s only really busy in January and February when pretty much the entire population of Buenos Aires jostles for beach-space, but the weather is a bit hit-and-miss the rest of the year so its much quieter. It was sunny and gorgeous when we arrived, then we had a couple slightly cloudy days, but since we aren´t in ...
Mar Del Plata, Argentina thelepkisa stupid city that doesn´t appreciate their potentially beautiful beaches, but we did see a sea lion and watched a car literally fall down a hill and almost land on two sun bathers. yes, this was probably one of the more insane things we have witnessed. it was on the cover of the paper the next day, but, alas, by then we had traveled onward.
