      Day 1 Athens

Was met at the airport by a taxi driver assigned by the tour to greet us. He took us to the hotel which was about half hour or more from airport. Checked in to the hotel and then went out to explore. The hotel is near a place called Plaka which we walked through. There were a lot of market type shops down the streets of Plaka. We will have to careful how much we eat tomorrow as we have a food tour in the morning! After a good …

We don't even understand some of the letters (Richard used them in maths but that is not a real big help!?) and we do not know a single word in Greek. Thankfully all the people we …

Our day started at 5pm with a tour to Cape Sounio, the Temple of Poseidon beside the sea. I had seen many spectacular pictures of this on the web and thought it was a must see, especially at sunset. "Stratos" our private taxi driver picked us up at 5pm on the dot and we drove about 90 minutes to our first stop, a dinner place, just 15 minutes drive away from the temple. It was a nice little restaurant, right on the water. The location ...
