Best place to stay on Earth
This is a true gem of a hotel' The staff from the front desk to the grounds keeper was GREAT... Was only going to stay for 2 nites but thanks to the hotel and a very helpfull staf, I stayed a week. as for a rental car, no need, you can get a taxi to La Fortuna for near nothing and thay are there in about 5 min. The restrant is great and they are open for breakfast (buffet) comes with the room, and it is good. also lunch is good. The rooms could not have been cleaner.
If you go there Tell Cesar and the staff Ed said Hello and thanks for the truely great time...
Relaxing and beautiful
My friend and I stayed here this past summer and it was great! The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Each room is it's own bungalow with a small patio out front. The hotel staff is great and was VERY helpful. The food at the hotel was very good...breakfast is included and we were told they will make whatever you want. A view of the volcano is visible from anywhere. They also have a pool and hottub. No complaints at all. I would definitely stay here again!
The rooms were spacious, the staff was very helpful and friendly. Beautiful grounds, great price, good food. IT had the whole experience. 5-10 minute taxi ride to La Fortuna.
Great atmosphere for famlies and couples alike.
I felt like a queen
I just left "Arenal Volcano Inn" and I have to say, it was leaving a family. Everybody was so helpful and corteus I felt even more at home that my own home!
My room was located in what I would call a "cottage", nicely decorated and surrounded by a little garden. The view of the volcan was spectacular and the trip to go down to La Fortuna very easy and fast.
Traveling alone, I needed some help to figure out things and at the hotel everybody pitched in to help me out.
I wanted to thank each and every one of them.
A beautiful hotel, excellent service and a fantastic view
I have recently visited the Arenal Volcano and it was such a great experience! The reason is because the past weekend my friends and I went for a trip to La Fortuna where the famous Arenal Volcano is situated. We departed from San Josť, and during the travel we saw pineapple and yuca plantations, and lots of beautifully coloured flowers and trees along the way. When we arrived, we directly participated on the Canopy tour, which was very exciting and adventurous. It is amazing how much we saw and learned! At night we finally went for a tour to Arenal Volcano, the main reason of our visit. We were lucky to see an eruption which was very beautiful because the bright neon coloured lava could be seen very clearly.
The tours were arranged at the reception of the Arenal Volcano Inn hotel where we were staying overnight which was very convenient for us. This is a beautiful 3*plus hotel located near to the volcano. There is very good quality food and there is friendly personnel offering a great service! They also do not offer water as drink with your meal, but serve tropical drinks! Therefore, I would rather rate it a 4 or 5 star hotel instead of a 3 plus hotel. Besides this, the large rooms of the hotel also look very inviting. The rooms look like little houses built next to each other with many flowers and trees around them. I experienced it as having my own garden at my 'house' with a great view on the Arenal Volcano. In addition, there even was a swimming pool and a Jacuzzi where we relaxed in the evening.
At the reception of the hotel everything could be arranged which is very convenient for us as we did not had to go into town for that. For example they offer tours such as hiking Arenal, the canopy tour, canyoneering waterfalls, horseback riding, biking or fishing for example. Near the hotel was a discotheque and in the town of La Fortuna were many shopping possibilities. In other words, everything is in reach when you stay at the Arenal Volcano Inn. There just were too many things to do for the time we were staying so I would advice anyone to stay at least 4 days to a week in order to experience all kinds of activities on offer in the Arenal Volcano area.
To all staff of Arenal Volcano Inn, thank you so very much for my great holiday! I loved the food, tours and especially the excellent service at the hotel! I will recommend this hotel to my friends and when I will return to Costa Rica I will definitely visit you again!
Unforgetable view at a Great place.
we stayed in Arenal for two nights and we were so happy at the Arenal Volcano Inn, The view of the volcano is simply the best. All the staff really seems to be happy to assist us or simply to talk to us. The rooms are beutiful and very clean, we enjoyed our little house on the praire.Their new restaurant is the best we tried in the area. If you are going to arenal make a stop at the inn.
A great experience
We had 6 adults and booked two rooms for 2 nights. The inn was perfect. Very large and clean rooms, AC, large bath room and incredible views of the volcano along with beautiful landscaping. The staff was very accomodating. They made some travel plans for us to go to the Tabacon Spa and Canopy Zip line tour. They also offered to provide a cooler of beer for us at the hot tub, which we took them up on. We had a great breakfast each morning which was included in the room rate - scrambled eggs, rice, beans, fresh juice/fruit (some of the best pineapple ever), coffee and torillas/breads. We ate at the restaurant one night as we overlooked the volcano and the food/service/selection was very good. In the evening they provided security (a roaming guard) which provided an added sense of safety. Overall one of the best experiences in Costa Rica.
A lovely stay in a lovely hotel!
We were very pleased to stay at Arenal Volcano Inn. The large rooms are almost brand new, comfortable and nicely decorated with an amazing view of the volcano. The service was wonderful; the staff went out of their way to make our visit enjoyable. The manager, Cesar Hildago and Andrea at the desk were both exceptional. Their knowledge of the area and attention to detail made our stay even more special. The food was very good, a nice breakfast is included and we know we will return!
Huge, very nice rooms at this newer hotel
Stayed here back in February...and the inn was just about brand new at the time. So the landscaping is still a little sparse, however, what a deal! Our room was HUGE, very high ceilings, complete with a spacious bathroom (lots of hot water), two beds, and a small kitchen area (fridge and sink). Very clean. Nice and simple decor. Each room has a little patio out front with chairs so you can watch the volcano, plus huge picture windows so you can lie in bed and watch...unfortunately, while we were there, Arenal did not put on a show. You can also leave a note for the security guard to come knock on your door if she spews in the middle of the night. Great breakfast buffet included with your room price. Hotel manager/owner is very friendly too.
We paid $80 plus tax ($93US) for our room.
Cute, small, quiet...Awesome View!!
First, i should say that i did not stay the night, but we stopped for directions, started talking to the manager Cesar and stayed for a bit just chatting. It was so cute & the staff was very attentive, even to us, who basicly just dropped in.
Rooms were cute & clean, pool & jacuzzi were clean....BUT...the main thing is the view....wow...reason we hung around is because the volcano started spewing and sputtering....plumes of smoke started rising. It was daytime, so didn't see much, but...i can imagine at night it would have been even better.
Note that i wouldn't stay without a rental car...they only serve breakfast & is about 15 minutes from Fortuna....good for an independent traveler. Cute, quaint, little hotel (i think they are building more rooms)

... but then I had to go back again! It was so hot that when I took my legs out, it was cold on my skin but I knew it was hot.. It was weird! After that, everyone was sitting in a warm pool with a cold pool in the middle of it, and Hayley was doing flips and handstands on the ledge while it was raining. Then Ian started dancing on the ledge with her (he was doing his Beyoncé moves). We played "ninja" and it was so fun :) then when we were ready ...

The crossing was a little rough as the wind made the lake a little choppy. Back on the mainland we loaded into a taxi van that took us to the chicken bus station. The van was supposed to be for our group only but it was half full of locals when we got on so it was a bit exciting trying to squish everyone in. I ended up jammed into a seat ...
