... subway, the next train was an hour away! It was now 3:30 and we thought it best to take the train all the way back to Rapallo (about an hour, stopping at every little station on the way). Arrived back at 5:00pm after stopping at the neighbouring Chiavari station for 15 mins (had to stick my head out of the train to ask someone who looked semi official if the train actually went to Rapallo (or if it had in fact reached the end of it's run)! ...

... The chair lift ride was great spectacular view along the journey and at the top. Beautiful walk around the paths and the church at its best. We also managed a days sailing( ferry boat, actually ) to Santa Maghareita then onto Portofino. Lunch and dome window shopping in San Maghareita. Couple hours later back onto ferry and back to Rapallo, not, we were again travelling back to Portofino, our mistake still more time on the sea. Great day ...

We headed for Corniglia station which is quite a way out of ...

... place to wash the sweat off of my head and cool down!

We could turn around and see how far we had progressed. I was surprised how much distance we had traveled, by the time we got to the top! I am anxious to get back to Manarola, so I can go swimming and cool down!! I must have lost two or three times my body weight in sweat on this trail!!

The views were awesome from the trail. We could see the coastline below. The view of the terraces was nice too. It is hard to ...

... it was close to 4pm and the sun was making its way toward the horizon. It would get dark soon so and we rushed quickly to our room at La Mala. Narrow alleyways, beautiful lamps lighting the way, eye-popping colors escorted us up. I counted about 70 steps from the plaza up to our room….lucky for us that John (from La Mala) carried our heavier pieces all the way up! The evening was cool, the winds were blowing and the sea was getting angrier and angrier. We took ...
