... generally got a little sorted. Feeling relaxed. By 1pm some of us needed a meal. The sick ones voted to stay put while Michael, Ellen and I went out for a stroll and to find a restaurant for lunch. Rapallo is quiet, and small, and there's no selfie stick sellers! Very pretty. Think Doc Martin's seaside village, Portwenn. As the afternoon rolled on, with card games, ...

... and almost on top of each other in a multitude of bright colours. Porto Venere (pop about 1,000) is just beyond the Cinque Terre and is at one end of a large harbour with La Spezia (Pop over 100,000) at the other. Porto Venere is quite unique. ... After our delicious pizzas last night, we decided we would revisit the pizza man for a second fix. Net and Rob popped to the local supermarket while Holiday and I went to order. This time one of the pizzas we chose was not available , and so pizza man said he would make one up for us (funny how we could still understand what he was trying to say through his tone and hand actions). While he got cooking, we drank cold Italian beers from plastic cups. The pizzas only ...

Well we left a very wet Venice this morning. Carla - we finally remembered to take a photo of Gnomie. We were on a train most of the day today. I now understand why Rick Steve's tells you to pack light in Europe because you have to lug your suitcases up and down the train station stairs. When we got to Riomaggiore we had to climb a steep hill to get to our ...
