... again for all your messages, both on the blog and direct by email or text. I don't reply to them as it would be all too easy for one's mind to drift back to home stuff, but your support is much appreciated. I noticed a 'visit counter' on the blog, and it averages at over 50 per day, which is pretty much as many people as get the email notifications. Thank you.

I had a lovely long chat with Anna, who was on great form and training today for joining me at Sarria. Life is Good!

Said bye to some lovely friends who had done their 2 week stage for this time, which is a common occurrence with people finishing and beginning the Camino in different stages in different years for a few weeks here and there. ... at another bar for limon soda, restrooms and a foot rest. Along the canal, a cyclist from Brazil eased alongside of Jim and they chatted for a while. His English was very good and he said he liked to practice using it on the Camino as they chatted about family size, soccer, joked about Brazilian cyclists now doing penance on the Camino on account of the Brazilian defeat in the recent World Cup, etc. After several minutes, he took off to catch up with his ...

... the Spanish dinner schedule. I think we're still in a nutrient deficit from the tough effort of the first 3 days. It's been hard to get a hearty, replenishing meal when you really need it. At least the trail from Burgos has been relatively flat. Pilgrim menu for dinner again tonight! Don't sweat the small stuff: Just some short notes if you're renting bikes from Bicigrino or otherwise: the air pumps can be ****, ...
