... The point at which the snow block slides indicates the stability. In our case, the block does not move, only finally collapsing when levered with a spade. More stable than yesterday, I am told, and we are firmly at Avalanche Level 2 – human trigged avalanches possible; natural avalanches unlikely. In other-words, its fairly safe.

We head up the VM6 chair, and do a few runs down the side ( not Stortloppet ! ) but have to admit to getting quickly bored, as the difference between enjoying a beautiful, groomed, undulating ski run on skis, and how that experience changes on a snowboard comes to the fore.
