Clear blue skies and 14 degrees today. Drove to Kitchener, a 30 minute drive from Stratford. First stop was the Kitchener farmers markets. Beautiful displays of fresh foods. We picked up some fresh raspberries and stopped for a coffee. Walked up the main street which was closed off for a car show and reached the Oktoberfest …
... heavy until the other side of Barrie. Then the drive was really quite pleasant. Not too many vehicles, the road was really smooth and the terrain was starting to change. Doug likes the rocks....
We like our room and look forward to getting a good sleep.
Hopefully the forecast is wrong cause it looks like 100% rain in the morning....oh well.

... as the downtown, with nicely kept old houses, some of brick and some of wood, on nicely kept grassy little lots. It seemed to be a special Saturday of lawn sales which we browsed casually. Then to the downtown for coffee, and browsing of the antique shops and galleries of the town’s renown. Lots of great stuff that we didn't buy.
Back to the festival grounds for lunch and some van viewing, and then off on our bikes again to check out the “Mill ...
... just built a new home, but they had lived in the area for 30 years so were great tour guides. We had two nights with them. On Wednesday they took us for a drive all round the area. It is a series of lakes with a lot of islands and particularly beautiful fall colours because it gets very cold there. They are retired but have a part time job maintaining one of the many holiday 'cottages’ on the lake for a family from California. They only use the cottage ...
