It was a long day going from Muscat to Larnaca (Cyprus). I caught the bus back to Dubai at 3pm; then, after arriving in Dubai at 10, the metro to the airport; then waited for my flight which left at 6.30am. Late afternoon and the shadows have covered the front of the house. But this is not the time to sit here. You only do that in the early morning when the sunrays are still softly tickling your face while you drink a coffee. Why bother to move the chairs out of the way with the few cars that pass by?

The fact that the meeting point is at the Hilton makes me happy as I don’t have to get downtown or walk outside under the burning sun. When the meeting is over, I have all the time to myself to use it as I wish. And thank God! There is so much to do out here!

The buffet is rich with Cypriot dishes, and I get acquainted with some ladies who are sitting beside me. The group of people I am sitting with doesn't seem anxious to hear the results of the contests, while I see more excitement on one or two tables just behind.
The band is playing and singing Greek songs, but I love hearing some Cypriot Traditional songs as well. ...
