3, Rue Alexei Leanov Sevran, Île-de-France, France, 93270
We took quite the walking tour today as our mission was clear: quartier Concorde Opera from A to Z. We had the pleasure of a guest professor from Vincent's old school who explained the history of Place de la Concorde, l'Eglise de la Madeleine, la Place Vendome, and rue de la paix. We stopped for lunch in a restaurant that had room for 21 hungry teens AND that got us quickly out of the rain, which came upon us without warning. After lunch we ...
Paris, Île-de-France, France paris2009... neared our rue,we spotted McD's and skipped all the way home. Well, until we saw Mommy and Daddy walking toward us with unhappy faces. They had waited nearly two hours for us - we were late to go to le Musee de Le Louvre. Seems we hadn't asked "Quelle heur est il , sil vous plait?" enough. Oh la la... Mimi *** *** Asher back ... A solid night's sleep for me. But poor Janice. She wakes up feeling dizzy and nauseous. Something didn't sit well on her stomach last ...
Paris, France styrskyA Volonte, is the french way of saying ALL YOU CAN EAT! And if you go to Flams, a restaurant in Paris, you can eat Flammakueche till you are blue in the face and fat as a barrel and the price is still 12e50. However most people just get drunk, yell a lot and cry out for MORE FLAMS!!! Well, that's not really normally true, but it's what happened Thursday night when I joined my friend Marco and his girlfriend for some flams. First of all, Flammekueche only ...
Paris, France oracle26... Matt spent an hour visiting Napoleon's tomb (the rest of the museum was already closed for the day). After getting a chance to rest up we all decided to walk over to Place de la Concord where we saw the Obelisque de Luxor. The pink granite obelisk was given to France in 1831 by Muhammad Ali, Viceroy and Pasha of Egypt. The monument was originally in the Temple of Thebes at Luxor, Egypt. After visiting Concord Plaza we found an ...
Paris, Île-de-France, France naslund13Sion: Our program for the last day couldn't have been more perfect - a behind the scenes tour of the Rex, a movie theater that has kept its original decor and has hosted awards nights, concerts, and much more. The tour was a bit like Universal Studios, in that we were part of the special effects editing stage, and even got to watch ourselves on the big screen! As we exited the theater, a few students asked it they could "look at the ...
Paris, France paris2008... a night in Paris. This was miles away from the city. We arrived in hotel about 9, when we found the rooms, took a shower and had a diner it was 10:30, the last metro was in midnight. There was no way to come back in the center. It was not alowed for us to walk trought this dangerous district, but Maja, Vesna and me did it. We wanted to go in the supermarket. It was mistake! We walked 2 blocks and found it but some dangerous faces were in front of it and they started ...
Paris, France jelenamaric... I walked around that--it was a pretty church! I took the metro home and started reading my Harry Potter book. Between the next few days and the 15+ hours I will be traveling Monday I should have it wrapped up soon. I went with one of the girls from my apartment to find a place to use wireless internet near our apartment. We usually go to McDonald's, however they are closed for renovations now so we had to seek out a new place! I plan ...
Paris, France becca_boo... a cold silence to them. It was as if you could not hear the waves which forced me think about what had happened here. The American Military Cemetery had special meaning to me as I am veteran. I have to say it was really nice to see that our country will take care of our heroes the way that was presented there. The grounds were perfect. It was very sobering to see 9k + graves. It really overwhelmed me ...
Paris, France xtogo... see a lot of fun stuff. It was still so hot when we got out 4 hours later that we took the subway home. OH! And we made a special trip through the crowds to see the Mona Lisa. We really frustrated a guard on the way there 'cuz we couldn't find an entrance to the exhibit, he finally let us go in the exit...
Paris, France radladac... circling it. I use the term "lane" loosely, very loosely here, with what seems like 42 points of entry and exit and no clear delineation of who goes where when, it was another case of chaos without lawlessness. Anywho, it was amazing (for lack of a better, non-repetitive word). Yet another goliath monument to battle, the God of Napoleon's reign (second only to him, mais bien sur).
