Today was hot..35.5 We first went to the Cathar fortress of Montsegur. The fortress fell after a siege that lasted from the summer of 1243 to March 1244. (See photo for more info). Then Foix for lunch at a pub. Followed by 8min out of Foix to Europe's longest navigational underground river, Labouiche. It was 13deg in the tunnel but on this hot day, it was perfect. It started so well. Baguettes, Campos coffee and we were ready on time for the taxi to the airport. But then it didn't show! ... The other interesting fact about that climb is that only a week ago our ride group did that climb on day 7 of our Pyrenees climb so we had first hand experience on the difficulty ahead.

Looks like Chris Froome and Richie Porte are the guys to beat this year. Poor old Cadel will miss out again.
