... a thousand faces watching stationary as we sped past. At one point a cloud of dust from a timber yard floated across in front of me, my vision momentarily a haze and then bright and clear again as I burst through. At one stage we were required to hop onto a "péage" toll section for a few junctions, the grand total for this being €1.80. Of course I had an issue here too - nothing is ever simple! Stopped at the automated toll both, my ...
The surf was reported to be the biggest it's been all summer, so it was inevitable that we were heading back to catch any last surfs. Thankfully the website report was correct and Dean surfed at least 3 times a day. He was one very happy man! One of the final days there was the biggest and most clean looking surf we have seen in France, not hard to bet considering it was the worst summer for surf. After Madrid I headed to South France to do some surfing and relaxing. I stayed with a friend of a friend, Georg, and hanging out with him was great. Georg and I have a similar sense of humor (haha rare find for me) and I was pretty lucky because Georg is a surf instructor and lives a five minute walk from the beach.
I wish I could write a bunch for this entry but all what I really did for the week was surf and cook food every day. It was pretty great and I owe Georg big time.
