... can describe what you see, when driving. The towns, the villages perched on the mountain side, the streams running along side the road side. The old house and church here and there, it was unbelievable. To feel free and be away in clean air is wonderful.

... but the ice caves and tunnels were quite beautiful since I've never seen anything like it. Lots of stairs!!! My legs just burned from the climb up. It was a really long day. The altitude at Mont Blanc is 4810 meters (15,781 feet) which makes it the highest point in Europe. Sigh. I made it!!! I only felt a little dizzy at the top but I had a terrible headache at the end of the day. But it was worth it! ... me and I found a great assortment of olives and fruit for my room. The first winter Olympics were held in Chamonix in 1924. The air is crisp, clean and cool. Beautiful!!! Chamonix is famous for its alpine skiing but the streets are full of hikers with their back packs, cyclists, mountain climbers a few hang gliders and me. Love it. I've found the local real estate office and have found a LITTLE chalet for - 675,000.00€ that would make a nice summer escape from chateau ...
