Route Nationale 74 Dijon, Burgundy, France, 21160, 3-8052-3536
Yes it is true. We worked our way up to Beaune, and just like in the Rhone, have not been dissapointed at all. We explored the tiny towns of Pommard, Volnay, Mersault, and Satenay, and got to try some amazing wine from all places. We even tried a place in Pommard and then headed over to his son's winery in Mersault (the son's was actually better than his Dad's stuff!) The only word of caution if you come wine tasting ...
Beaune, Burgundy, France tommcatt... was very nice and explained so many things to us that it was a bit overwhelming at times. I found it very interesting though as he related everything to our 5 senses. I didn't really buy the sound aspect buy the idea of taste (obviously), touch, smell, and sight all play a role in decoding a particular wine. We tested our sense of smell in one room while he discussed the numerous colors wine can take depending on age in another. Along the way we got to taste a few ...
Beaune, Bourgogne, France t.rosile... however those ticket bays looked angrier and more modern, and as I knew it would, wouldn't let me OUT of the metro so I had to wait until someone entered and while the doors were still open get out.
I had about five hours to spend in Paris but I wasn't feeling too well so I went and put my head down in the nearby park, yet it was too cold and windy so I spent the rest of the time in the train station. The bad thing about the French trains is that they won't announce ...
Dijon, Burgundy, France tonkin... Cube' we had left Belgium for ran out, leaving us with a fridge only functional when on the move. This time we had a much longer drive to France than previously -some 350 miles. Off we set, stopping on route at Frankenberg/Eder and Thalfang, reaching Clermont-En-Argonne (49.07'15"N 5.02'13.8"E). For 5eu on a spotlessly clean aire we have electricity for 24hrs, as muc water as we want, toilets and showers. The only drawback being no cafe/bar within ...
Beaune, Burgundy, France pennipistle... several attempts (and an hour of our time) to contact my Visa company to find that out.

Armed with some fresh yummies from the boulangerie, we hopped in our car to take in the Wine Route through Burgundy. It took us through fields of vines, quaint little villages, and a breathtaking stone cliff. We stopped at the Chateau Rochepot, a medieval castle destroyed in the Frech Revolution and partially restored ...
Beaune, Bourgogne, France dancer_alison... from Troyes to Dijon and just beyond to Beaune seemed, as I'd feared it would, to go on forever. There was some dramatic weather with torrential rain just north of Dijon, which at least took the heat out of the day for a while - it had been very very hot in the depths of the afternoon... But at last we pulled into Beaune and soon spotted a 'Camping' sign; it was easy to track the site down. 'Cent Vignes' is municipally ...
Dijon, Burgundy, France travellingjon... school and four others. It was so completely French, which I found hilarious. If a team was too tired to play a game, they'd just postpone it until the next day or just cancel it all together - no forfeits or anything. It was completely unorganized. The sports played were football (soccer), rugby, basketball, volleyball, and handball. Handball is a ...
Dijon, France kelseyhubble... just a day; I'd say about 4 days-1 week, possibly more, but if you plan on touring Belgium at the max 4 days; that should give you enough time to explore centre ville, enjoy the museums, etc. I only visited Brussels, so I have no idea how the train system works in Belgium, but I have heard that it's pretty good but do your homework on this definately. Belgium is not a cheap country, especially Brussels, and sadly there aren't that many hostels. There are a few, but ...
Dijon, France swisherd... good and we agreed that for 21 Euros, it was one of the best meals we have ever eaten. We have decided to do the same thing every other night that we are in France. Cheap meals one day and then one great meal the next. It won't even break the bank at only 21-23 Euros. After dinner, we headed back and had a blissfull night of rest thinking of how great the food was and how good the next night will be in Lyon with the USA World Cup match to look forward to.
