The French army gave chase with an army of 40,000 to 60,000 men of which around 20,000 were knights. AFter a cat an mouse chase the English were finally hemmed in and forced to fight. At Agincourt. It was a desperate situation, and seemed a lost cause to the English. A small, sick ...
Gisors, Haute-Normandie, France joelmeekerAs I've said before if we ever live in Europe again our heads would choose Germany, but our hearts would defiantly choose France, and being old romantics our hearts would probably win! What can we say that hasn't already been said, as soon as we crossed the border we were lifted from the gloom of returning home, the sun greeted us and the rolling countryside made it feel like the start of the journey all over again.

We headed to Reimes, which is a place close to our ...

Beauvais, Picardy, France hithere52Vincent was waiting for us outside the Louvre and we were off to his home west of Paris. It is easy to understand Vincent's love for his home of Auvers-sur-Oise. Clean, quiet, and picturesque... As we arrived in Auvers-sur-Oise, we saw the SCJ building where he works. From there, it was on to his home for lunch. Vincent and Rose "wined ...
Auvers-sur-Oise, Île-de-France, France randyorrellI took the Eurostar train to Paris on Thursday afternoon right after class. It was a great way to travel and it was a good way to see the countryside as well! I got to the train station and it was night time and I needed to wait for Steph which was a little intimidating to wait by myself but she got there and showed me the wayback to her place. On Friday, Steph had an excursion for class so I decided to go to Versailles while she was busy ...
Paris, Île-de-France, France phillipsb1I have always been interested in France. Also in the most beautiful villages of France. One of them is Gerberoy. Close (300 km./180 miles) to my home we went to visit it. It was desolated and abandonned until Henri-Eugene le Sidaner decided to reside there. He was a painter and other artists came and restored the village to its beauty it is now.
Beauvais, France philocanWe stood at the front along side the cattle heard waiting to get on the plane, then to our luck, the they decided to open the other gate just where we were standing and now the heard stood behind us. MR. Ryan Air, what a guy... for just about a hundred fiddy bucks, same price of an 8 hr train, we were both able to get to Spain in just under 2 hours. What a guy, hey look, he's even advertizing on the planes too! Clever use of a giant moving billboard!! What a guy.
Beauvais, France kylegdavisAfter Rouen it was on to Giverny to see Monet's house and garden, which were very pretty with all the flowers out. As we were leaving there was a thunderstorm and we got soaked. The lightning was striking all around us, which was quite scary, but I asked a french bus driver who was waiting for a tour group if we could shelter in his bus. Still dripping wet, our bus ...
