Up early this morning as we are travelling again. Caught the train back to Paris Nord. It certainly travels very fast. Sitting right at the back so not as smooth as the ride up. Then onto the TER to Beauvais. Looks a nice town but didn't stay to explore. Caught the No. 12 bus out to the airport and then walked to the guest house. ... we'd paid for... We raced through the ornate and opulent palace, snapping photos of the amazing rooms full of paintings and antiquities.
As we left, the rain began to fall & we were a little damp arriving back at the car to head back. A stop at the local supermarket to add tour 'picnic in the room' and we were set for a night in. A night to watch the lonely deer & pheasant in the yard, take a few snaps of our place & prepare to leave for Paris in the morning!
Went into the village on the bikes and stocked up on fruit, vegetables, bread, sausage etc. Got away by 10am. Stopped at Buzet et Baise for lunch. Moved off the canal onto the river Baise for the afternoon. Need a card for the locks, but so far no problems. Not many boats going our way or coming down river either. Stopped in Vianne for the night. A fortified town ...
... After around 2 hours of looking, we were just about to give up and park in a car park for the second time. A church car park was pitch black and well hidden from the road. It was away from any housing/industrial estates which was exactly what we were looking for. There were no cars around!

Yesterday morning we got up and enjoyed a nice spread the French lady had laid out for us on the dinning table for breakfast. We downloaded a French speaking application on the iPad which really helped us at breakfast. We only had to mime half of the stuff now! After breakfast we met the owner of the chateau who could speak english but he came across a little creepy. Anyway he was nice enough to lend us some boots as we wanted to walk around the property and feed ...
