... to a beautiful day. Still, warm and sunny so after breakfast we set off along the coastline on our bikes to Arcachon. It's all very beautiful with the beach running the distance and the locals and people of Bordeaux making the most of a beautiful Sunday. Many were already on the beach sunning themselves. We rode about 18 km to get to the end of the cycle lane till you can ride no more and its certainly a playground to enjoy the beach scene. ...
... to be the last to arrive; he had a "horse emeregency"--he had three horses at his country place near Kingston when he was only supposed to have one. A few neighbours invited themselves over to visit his mare. The only one unaccoutnted for was Gilles and some of us were starting to get a bit concerned, but he turned up eventually, probably arriving and checking in before the rest of us.

... the blue. Anyway we put our bikes together and the hotel staff calmed down and we are in the process of getting our rooms.

Just got our room so will stop there. If I can stay awake we will go into Bordeaux this afternoon.

... my ankle, wrist and derriare before I could get in the van. As a result the next day was declared a washing day. It needed doing because my keks were chasing my socks around the van and threatening them.
As a result I have lovely clean clothes but didn't get another paddle. There will be other opportunities I'm sure.
Having time to contemplate I realised I've been in France for nearly 2 weeks and really should crack on, so I trundled steadily ...
