Stayed at the hotel for only a night, but was a decent hotel. Staff were friendly. It's just a quick drive away from the airport.

... was crammed with all the skiers going down, and partly because we had carefully not told Joy that going down is always more scary. She did not mind though, having (at last) discovered the beauty and majesty of the big mountains. Another "legal high" as she put it.

Sadly our stay with Peter was all too short, but Joy seems to have been bitten by the mountain bug, so we might well be returning to ...

... Castle and decided to go explore it! It definitely reminded me of traipsing through Europe as a kid visiting castle after castle. I only wish I could have appreciated it then as I do now. We found this rather Lord of the Rings looking tree behind the castle and the kids had a blast climbing its roots.

The sun began to set so we headed over to a short drive through tour of France then headed back to the house. Sarah ...

We left dark and early on a water taxi for the train station. It was 2 and a half hours to Milan and I slept half the way there. Milan to Basel was 4 hours and a beautiful ride. We rode past lake Como and planned the area as a stop for our next European vacation. It was gorgeous. We also rode passed the snow capped peaks of the Swiss Alps. The mountains were HUGE and the little towns were nestled right up to the base of them. It was quite picturesque. I tried to capture a ...

... the Hasenhorn Rodelbahn which somehow hadn't come up in any of my other searches.

It looked pretty awesome - its basically a chair lift which takes 5 minutes to go up the top of a mountain. Once at the top you get on a rollercoaster. the longest in Europe apparently, and gravity takes you to the bottom. You have your own carriage and breaks so you control your speed, there are 360 turns and lots of windy corners. Every ...

    Long Road to Basel

... Markets here in Basel and since we're here for two nights, we decide to visit just one, the main market across the river. We take tram 6 from our hotel right to it. All hotels in Basel give their customers passes that allow us to use public transit for free. That's what I'm talking about! We walk the market and notice the prices are much higher here than Germany but it is Switzerland. Most things including food is 25% higher. The hotel offers no ...
