We decided to make full use of our semester ticket which gives us free transport around the region and thus ended up at Breisach one weekend.
The weather was really gloomy, making the whole trip quite worthless. The view of the rhine river was nothing spectacular.

... I starting climbing and climbing up this amazing road, just like a Jacob's ladder. There were grapevines growing everywhere up the hill in lots of little flat steps just like rice paddies. At one stage a cable car travelled over the top of me transporting a large shovel for an excavator! This road was awesome carved into the mountainside.
