Stayed at the hotel for only a night, but was a decent hotel. Staff were friendly. It's just a quick drive away from the airport.

... Those who recall OHMSS, with George Lazenby as James Bond will recognise the Schiltorn as "Piz Gloria" as this is where the Alpine scenes where filmed. Spectacular! From the village, you have a clear view of the Eiger, the Munch, and the Jungfrau just peeps over them. Fantastic mountain scenery, and we were blessed with a wonderful clear day to enjoy it. The cable car ride down was fun, partly because ...

We finally pulled into the station and met up with my cousin Sarah. We took a tram back to her house and saw her husband Martin and met their adorable kids. It was so great to see them! We vegged out for the day and tried to catch up on 13 years.

The next day we took the kids to the park to let them get some energy out, then Sarah took us around Basel and showed us the sights. It is such a ...

We decided to make full use of our semester ticket which gives us free transport around the region and thus ended up at Breisach one weekend.

The weather was really gloomy, making the whole trip quite worthless. The view of the rhine river was nothing spectacular.

I guess the only time we'd be back to this place is to take a bus to Colmar.

... I starting climbing and climbing up this amazing road, just like a Jacob's ladder. There were grapevines growing everywhere up the hill in lots of little flat steps just like rice paddies. At one stage a cable car travelled over the top of me transporting a large shovel for an excavator! This road was awesome carved into the mountainside. Such a feat of engineering and in places had overhangs like a roof on the road above me. ...
