... for in French, which I don't speak), and grocery shopping (less French required, just "bonjour" and "merci"). I went on a little stroll along the lake with some other students, and we wandered through our neighborhood, seeing if we could get back on our own. There are so many bourgie stores near us: Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Dior, Hermes, etc. I have never seen so many watches in my life... Now everyone is just making dinner and hanging ...

... be signing up for a temporary European cell phone. Fingers crossed that staying awake until 8pm tonight will take care of most of my jet lag...only 3 more hours until bedtime!

I'm looking forward to Thursday, and beginning the first of many long weekends, this one with my best friend. Meanwhile, I'll try to break out the black clothes and assimilate myself a little more into Swiss culture!

Today was purely about getting off and ready to go.

Rob went round to fix Suzy's tire first thing and make sure she was good to go again. We packed and jammed and weighed for a few hours. Then took off to the train at Bare. We got to Manchester Airport in good time and checked through all okay until security Honestly they are worse the Australia. Our bag had to be scanned again, even after they had checked it - twice! ... to take this and a delightful chocolate éclair in we continued our walk.
Next stop was the St Pierre Cathedral which was surprisingly deserted to what we had come to expect in Europe. From the Cathedral our stroll continued back down towards the lake where we checked the time and took a few snaps at the very popular if not abstract flower clock and finally spied the Geneva Water Fountain or Jet d’Eau shooting skywards.

We found out ( too late to do anything about it in New Zealand or even France) that they would not let us on the cruise home without an Indian visa!!
