We met with Dr. Alex for awhile the first part of the morning and he gave us a mini lecture on two of the procedures we'd most likely be seeing that day. ... spending time at the Iringa house, and now they are staying here with us. They are going to find a plot of land to build the new Morogoro house on while they're here as well. The three of them are very nice, and are genuinely interested in what we are doing and where we want to go in life.
ps. During Swahili lessons tonight, we spotted a tiny lizard on the ceiling! What a nugget.
This is kind of a huge day in my dental career. I witnessed my first surgery ever today in the dental ward. And it's one for the books, folks. A cystectomy. A MAJOR cystectomy. A 65 year old female came in with an obvious swelling on the left side of her face just below the ear. The doctors determined it was a cyst most likely formed from the parotid gland. ... Dutch for some reason. She did speak english, because I heard her talk to others. But even though I spoke english to her, she always spoke dutch to me haha. I never bothered to correct her, because I just liked listening to her talk.
