          Carlairi to Aritzo

A travel blog entry by lizru on Aug 30, 2015

Traveled from Caglairi along a combination of road types. Interpreting the GPS directions took us up lanes and dead ends but the advantage was we were off the tourist routes. Housing so different to Australian standards. However all seemed well kept. We stopped at Nauaghi and toured the archeological restoration of Stone, Bronze, Steel and Roman civilizations. These stone constructions after being utilised for various requirements were abandoned around the 6th century ...

... a little before 8:00 to walk back down the hill for dinner. The place we thought we'd stop at, a little closer to our hotel, was closed. So we traipsed all the way down the hill and found a nice little restaurant to have our pizza in. We got a salad to share and a parma ham pizza. Had our usual wine so the walk back up the hill didn't seem so torturous. ...

... salad, fruit, and a platter of cookies followed. . . enough food for twice as many people as seated at our table (especially because Abby didn’t eat much at all!). The experience really immerses you in Sardinian culture…those farm to table restaurants back home will never be the same!

Go Karts. . . The Pista Go-Kart place is just around the way from our villa, and we have passed it dozens of times in the past week, each time Jackson sitting ...

The rest of our time in Arbatax

A travel blog entry by malloryharvie on Jun 23, 2014

... excursions similar to the ones we did on the cruise ship. We also swam the most at the spa's pool because it was adults only, which was pretty nice.

Our hotel was more like a townhouse in a big white concrete row. All these cottages and townhouses like this reminded me of being in Greece and even the spa was decorated similarly. There are also these giant trees that have really pretty bright pink flowers on them that would fall off and onto the ground. ...
